ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX (OEL 7.9 ) INSTALLATION

  1. Download Virtual box : Download & Install Latest virtual box on windows machine.
  2. Download LINUX 7.9 iso files.
  3. Install Linux 7.9

1. Download Virtual box : Download & Install Latest virtual box on windows machine.

 

2. Download LINUX 7.9 iso files

Goto google.com -> edelivery.oracle.com

Click on Sign In

Login with Your Credentials

Search with oracle linux 

It is Added to the cart then click on continue 

Search for *86 64 bit operating system  & The size should be around 14.2 GB.

Then click on continue.

Accept the license agreement.

Close the feedback form.

 

 

Here you will see all the checkboxes are checked . just uncheck all checkboxes.

Once you click on this link , downloading will start automatically. ( its size is 4.5 GB) .

 

3. Install Linux 7.9

Now we’ll start with the installation

 

Open the Virtual Box and Click on new Virtual Machine.  

 

Give name to your machine. Then in machine folder column click on other. & create a folder in any drive where you find enough space approx 100gb & select it.

Assign 6 GB Memory(RAM)

Keep the floppy disk option to 3rd number.

Select the Graphics Controller as VBoxVGA

Select V1009690-01 & click on open.

Now you will see the file here , select it & click on Choose.

Right click on empty option & click on remove attachment

Click on Ok , & start the server.

By the up aerrow key on keyboard select install oracle linux 7.9 option

Select data & time

Select your location. & click on done

Select software selection option.

Select server with GUI & On the right side select Virtualization tools & compatibility Libraries.

Now select Installation Destination

Select I will configure partitioning

Click on + symbol to add new mount point.

Like this assign Swap = 10GB /tmp = 5 GB / = whatever left assign it to root partition. & add these 4 mount points.

Click on Accept changes

Select network & hostname :

Give host name as node1.learnomate.org then click on apply then click on done.

Click on Begin Installation

Set the password as root only  click on done .

Click On License Information  & Accept license

Click on finish configuration

Logout learnomate user  login with root user

Right click on screen & select open terminal -Our oracle linux server installation is completed here ———– Next the first thing what we have to do is take the remote of this machine using a software which which we have already install and that is called mobaxterm For this to happen we need to perform some networking operations as a root user Disable firewall to connect putty to remote server systemctl stop firewalld systemctl disable firewalld Go to vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config file and disable use DNS

Now , with the help of IP Address, we can take server control on mobaxterm or putty.

Login with root user
